Parker Kelly can't really play C imo. I've never liked him down the middle

Yeah I admit I don't know what it would look like at the NHL level. Kastelic is made the role anyway

Maybe they could keep White around too. Norris, Stutzle, Pinto, White, Kastelic would be great center depth

I don't understand why so many Sens fans defend keeping White around. I only think he's going to get worse so trading him now while he at least has a youth factor on his side seems far more optimal.
This is the first I've heard about Kastelic, so I'll definitely look into him and keep that in mind for future builds.

Defend? lol I said "Maybe they could keep White around too"... White is not going to hire me as his lawyer anytime soon

I don't think there's much of risk of him getting "worse", at least not yet as he just turned 25 years old. He is what he is, a good 3rd liner, good on possession, decent defensively and offensively but he is not going to be more than that. And yes he is overpaid, everybody understands that now. The Sens have barely been able to reach the cap FLOOR the last several seasons so White has not been a problem at all.

In my scenario, I'm keeping him around next season because there could be a lot of injuries during a season. At some point, the Sens top-3 centers were injured at the same time (Norris, Pinto, White) but thankfully they had discovered that Tim Stutzle was ready to be a NHL center.

Finally, there is absolutely no NEED to trade him. If the goal is to get rid of him or his salary, you just BUY HIM OUT

I don't think many Sens fans, if any, expect him to be anything more than a 4th liner but you also need these players. He is a great on faceoffs, he is good defensively, he is also pretty strong and can fight, he has a mean streak

This is a post I made about him recently (on another forum) :

I liked him as a prospect but (like many) never thought he'd have the skating to be in the NHL. If that part keeps improving, then Mark will have a pretty decent NHL career.

Small sample size (16 GP with 9:11 average) but look at this, among skaters who played at least 15 games :

Hits/60 : Kastelic is 5th behind Michael Pezzetta, Ryan Reaves, Liam O'Brien and Reese Johnson

BkS/60 (forwards only) : Kastelic is 8th behind Austin Watson, Nick Bonino, Carter Rowney, Brett Howden, Tyler Motte, Alexei Toropchenko and Parker Kelly

TkA/60 : Kastelic is 3rd behind Mark Stone and Logan Shaw
