And you live your life one quarter mile at a time right?

Btw, the package you're sending Buffalo is going to the wrong address, it should be addressed to Vancouver instead

Vancouver doesn't accept that for Quinn Hughes, The package going to Buffalo needs to be heading to Vancouver if you want Quinton Hughes.

Brandt Clarke, the eighth overall pick in 2021 who will make the team in 2023-2024, for Chase Stillman and a first-round pick three years from now who won't mature into an actual NHL player until 2026 at the earliest, if ever?

I don't think so.

Why would Buffalo trade Thompson in the first place, guy has a breakout season, becomes a 1C and now they trade him...not happening.

I liked Thompson and felt big players took longer to develop.
@Lenny54 I do not know how Buffalo could pass on this deal.
Dawson Mercer, 18 overall RW 2020 82 NHL games 17 goals 25 assists and 42 pts
Alexander Holtz, 7 overall RW 2020 NHL Entry Draft 52 AHL games 26 goals 25 assists 51 pts
2022 1st round pick (NJD), 2022 2nd round pick (NJD), 2022 3rd round pick (NJD) and 2022 7th round pick (NJD)
I would prefer Reilly Walsh over Kevin Bahl, RHD v LHD.
So Buffalo would have three players from the 2020 draft Quinn, Mercer and Holtz and four first round picks in 2022 and 6 picks among the top 41.
This could be Jason Karmanos' Eric Lindros trade, this package is significantly more than the Sabres received from the Eichel trade:
Mercer =< Tuch
Holtz =< Krebs
2022 1st 2nd OA >>>>> 2022 1st 16th OA (it would take a little less than 3 16th OA to equal the 2nd OA)
2022 2nd round pick (NJD) >>> 2023 2nd round pick (VGK) minus 2023 3rd round pick (BUF)
2022 3rd round pick (NJD) and 2022 7th round pick (NJD) >> nothing

Skinner Cozens Mercer
Olofsson Mittelstadt Tuch
Peterka Krebs Quinn (the AHL line up)
Ruotsalainen Girgensons Okposo

The Vancouver package while not as strong may fit Buffalo's needs better:
Severson perfect fills a RHD need for Buffalo and top pairing with Dahlin.
Zacha while does not have the offensive skills as Tage but, he could be a better defensive center and is significantly better at FO's.
Johnsson Buffalo is fairly deep at LW, so he would be at best a 3rd line LW
Graves and Mukhamadullin not really needed as Buffalo has decent depth at LHD.
Graves would be a great LHD but maybe Reilly Walsh could be included instead of Mukhamadullin.
2023 1st round pick (NJD) a first round pick a deeper draft
2022 4th round pick (NYI) and 2022 4th round pick (NJD) do not add much value.
A good return just not as good as the one proposed.
EDIT:
To make a deal as this would take huge brass BOLLOCKS.
But it may be what Buffalo needs, two way center, RHD, LHD, LW, first round in a good draft, LHD prospect.

I’m sure that’s what Buffalo needs but Canucks need things too and they wouldn’t give up Hughes for that if at all
