I don’t think the trade is bad value wise. I don’t think Jarmo does it because this team still needs multiple impact guys but let’s go with this scenario. You would not be getting Cooley then. The Jackets would absolutely take him at 2. This trade would not be in Arizona’s best interest.

          That isnt how this works.

While Chy may only be worth the 2OA in a draft that lacks franchise changing players, comparing the pick of a player to the traded pick aint how this works at all.

Is everyone really so sure Cooley is the guy at #2? I’ve always thought Slafkovsky was the guy at #2. Also, CBJ is set for many years at center, having a bigger body that can play wing seems like the call for them.

He is worth the 2nd OVR, Smith and Boqvist are just expendable pieces thrown in to sweeten it. And by that (really stupid) logic, Point was a 3rd round pick, therefore Tampa should trade him for one of this year’s late 1sts.

No, Columbus still needs their 1c, Sillinger is probably a 2c and Johnson looks like a wing. If it’s not cooly, Columbus goes Nemec at 2 because their have a major hole on the right side of the defence. I’d say Columbus probably stays at 6 and 12 and goes for Juricik at 6 and a center at 12.

The difference in value between 2nd and 3rd is practically nothing at all. So in your mind, Chychrun is worth nothing at all?

Makes sense. I actually figured they might not go for it because of that RD need.

Your opinion clearly shouldn’t be valued here as much as anyone else if you’re gonna belittle Chychrun’s value that much.

I am still hoping Jiricek is available at 6. But if not him we have to take Savoie.
