I bet Forsberg would have to get a ridiculous contract to go to another fringe playoff squad.

He pretty much had a full-time spot this year, and i think he did rather well.

Yea, CBJ is in the enviable position of having cap. I'm just wondering if there is good value in 5m Manson, and 8m Forsberg long term. I know non performance teams want to make a "splash"in the off season to try to make a push for next season, but wondering if there better ways to spend cap this season, and in future years.

Forsberg is an obvious upgrade at talent short term, but with marchenko, chinakov, laine, oliver and maybe johnson all locked into the long term future at wing, does it really make sense to spend $8M at a position we don't need? This is disregarding tex, boone, and foudy that I am guessing will all stick at wing in the future if we can develop C's.

You’re both right. CBJ won’t do much with UFA this off-season, especially with the logjam of young wings ready to go.

By eye test he was one of our worse forwards and by analytics he was HORRIBLE. He desperately needs AHL time.

That’s what I was thinking. He didn’t look ready at all.

Yeah, I'm not trying to shade the other cbj fan who said he looked okay. But there was a reason he got scratched with us and analytically he was one of the worse forwards in the league. I'm worried we're neutering his offensive production the same way we did to Bemstrom

I agree he was kinda rushed, and don't forget he scored multiple goals that were called back for offsides neutral
also about bemstrom it is unfortunate too but also shows a bit on his part. His final year in sweden before he came over, over half his points were on the powerplay, in euro where they have bigger ice. Partly his problem but also our problem for not giving him time to adjust
