Description
Time to accelerate the rebuild. Once we have a 2C we are ready to make a push. Our young LD will be ready shortly and we will have all the necessary pieces to make a run at the cup in the near future. Don't love moving the 2023 1st but were not winning the lottery so it's worth moving a pick in the 10-16 range for a true 2C. Some will say it's an overpayment but I don't care. It is time for this team to be competitive. This is not the actual lineup for 2022/2023, I just wanted to see what the team may look like in the near future.

Dude a 1st and 2nd round pick and McIsaac is way more than enough to move up 5 spaces. Don't need to add the 2nd 1st round pick this draft isn't as deep as next years draft.

I don't think Arizona will want to move down if Cooley is available at 3. We have to overpay to get it done. Detroit has enough pieces to make a run at things if they grab Cooley. The player they get in the middle of round 1 in 2023 likely won't contribute until 2025/26. McIsaac and the 2nd are expendable.

I know it is enough but I can't see Arizona actually taking it. Have to drastically overpay.

Heck take out McIsaac and the 2nd 1st round pick and add Bertuzzi, That should be good enough for #1 overall.

I would rather not move Bertuzzi. The point is to add Cooley without moving anything or anyone that will contribute to the roster in the near future.

I don't see Bertuzzi in the long term anyways, Trade Bertuzzi to get Cooley and then sign Filip Forsberg win win for us.

Your "drastic" overpayment is beyond "drastic". Next years 1st is a no go for sure in this deal. If you feel you need to get "drastic" toss in Zadina or a 3rd round pick... No way you trade that much in picks to move up a few spots.

Ask any Coyotes fan (if you can find any) if they will take Zadina and a 3rd to move down and they will tell you absolutely no. It will cost a premium to move up into the top 3. I am not saying that it is a smart move or that it will actually happen by any means but Detroit has the assets to make it happen.

I am just saying thats my value of moving up.. Its garbage and moving up isnt worth it at this point in a rebuild.

Disagree. The rebuild is almost over. Besides a 2C all the key pieces are already in the organization. Add the missing piece and start making a push for the playoffs.
