Name me a 85 point player going into a contract year that's going to sign for $7,000,000 x 5 years? You're easily looking at $8,000,000 x 8 years to sign Kevin Fiala if not slightly more. He's not signing for 7x5yrs.

and the wild don’t want brown or Gustavsson. Neither move the needle for them.

Brown at 50% (so a $1.8m rental) is actually really nice for the Wild. It at least give Boldy a guy good for at least 15g a year to play with next year. Plus he'd be able to shelter Rossi a bit if they wanted to run a Boldy/Rossi/Brown 3rd line next year.

Brown scored at a 60 point pace for almost the entire year, same with the season prior as well. One of the best pkers in the league. Can play up and down the lineup. One year at 1.8m is likely worth at least a 1st to most teams in the league so I have a hard time thinking that Minnesota wouldn’t be interested, especially at that cap hit.

Regardless, 0% interested in him being thrown in to a Fiala trade. Same goes for Gus, who legitimately may not move the needle for you, but is still one of our best goalie prospects and on the cusp of breaking into the league.

I wouldn't say "way too high" but admittedly, a 7th OA pick and Brown is already a lot. I prefer the proposal in the other recent Wild/Sens ACGM

Brown is more a matchup forward but offensively, he is more of a playmaker. He makes a lot of nice little plays

Yeah, it's a ridiculous thing to say. The Wild would jump on Brown's contract like crazy, even at 3.6 AAV. So imagine at 1.8 AAV

I meant it more as Brown is a FWD with some skill. Unlike the parade of junk FWDs MN gave Fiala until Boldy got called up.

I should have quoted only "It at least give Boldy a guy good for at least 15g a year to play with next year."

Just tried to add that he was more a playmaker than a goal scorer. And you don't need to play him on a scoring line. He mostly did all his stuff with Nick Paul in Ottawa, which is another thing that adds to his overall value. He doesn't even to play with top-6 forwards to produce
