Probably an even trade, not at all a reality though. Miller is a win now player and Columbus are a win 2-3 years from now team.

i think the blue jackets might be a fringe playoff team next year and even if they aren't miller is still relatively young and going to stay in columbus

I agree that they look like a bubble team, but they're not a cup contender with or without Miller. Better to keep the players that line up with the core group under 25 than to trade one of the main pieces for a bump now. Also, who knows? Maybe Miller signs in Columbus as a UFA anyway after next year. They've certainly been building a trend of getting local guys with Roslovic, Kuraly, Meyers and kind of Sillinger lately.

i get what you're saying about keeping the young pieces, but I doubt miller is hitting free agency. He's probably going to extend with whatever team he's on during the offseason

Maybe, maybe not. He has no control over where his season ends. Next off season would be his first chance to play wherever he wants and that's appealing to some guys.

No, I think potato_p is right, Miller ain't going to make it to free agency, he's too hot of a commodity for teams to not try to get a head start in trying to secure
