after malkins interview keep him please. Letang tho, do not overpay. whatsoever. if they keep him, put him at what i put him. if not, bring back justin schultz at like 2-3 years at 2.75 mill or something like that.

EDIT: Let Mark Friedman and POJ compete for the bottom pair LD. If Friedman wins, POJ to ahl for 1 more year and call Juuso Riikola up as 7th d.

Matheson was so good this year as a whole, and I believe he will keep getting better. I think you are undervaluing him

I think all of this is so backward. First, why are we keeping Malkin because he said nice things? That is no reason to resign a guy that is clearly declining as a 5 on 5 player. After that why should Letang not get paid? He had what might be his best season of his career. He is absolutely a guy we have to resign. Lastly, why would we trade a Dman who is the best skater on the team and does so much with creating offense? Dumolin and MP are both guys who we could and should look to move.

If you keep Letang, Matheson becomes expendable. Dumo needs to go period. I'm ok keeping Marino and Pettersson as a second pairing D. POJ, Friedman, and Ruhwedel play rotate as bottom pairing. this means we need 1 more D-man to play with Letang and almost 10 mil in cap space to get him.

I would not look to move Matheson unless we are getting a pretty good return. It would have to be a 2nd rounder and a decent enough prospect.
