No interest in Bear, but in the context of this AGM you could probably swing a Mittelstadt for Bear + 3rd/4th.

Ruotsalainen won't be up, I feel like he's not gonna make it here, and playing 10 minutes a night with hooves for hands 4th liners isn't going to make it better. It may be blasphemy, but peterka and Quinn don't HAVE to be here, at least to the point that you are giving away players like olofsson and mittelstadt for pennies on the dollar.

Make room for Malkin* plus it's just a matter of when with him. I have little doubt he'd succeed elsewhere, but as more guys like Quinn, Peterka, and Krebs come in, it's going to be harder for him to differentiate himself

Quinn and Peterka are wingers - Olofsson is the odd men in that case.
Krebs most likely will play on the wing for sometime, before making move to C.

And Malkin health is a concern these days, so Sabres cannot be so thin on C.

I definitely wouldn't consider Thompson Malkin Cozens thin down center lol, and if they're worried about that issue going forward they can draft a Center with one of their THREE 1st round picks. I suppose you could move Olofsson instead and move Cozens to LW2 and keep Mitts instead

I assume Malkin will miss some time, which he did in recent seasons, so center depth is required. Girgensons, Krebs may fill the role, but you don't want to patch your lineup, when you can prevent it.
None of Sabres 1st round draftees will be in NHL next season.
Cozens is playing on the wing for Canada, so there will be material on the matter.
