Nichushkin is not the move for the Flyers. Just what we need another ok second line guy who will be making a lot of money for a long time and won’t make us a contender but will stop us from getting Bedard

You're horribly underrating Nichushkin if you think he's an OK second line guy. Dude is an above average 1st line winger and would be the second best player on this roster behind Couturier. I guarantee Hayes and Konecny put up career years in terms of point totals with him while also putting up good to very good defensive results

You're horribly overrating this guy. Saying he'd be the second best player on a team like the Flyers means nothing. 2nd off, we can't spend 6 million on someone who is not elite. We need elite players on a team filled with mediocrity, and trading JVR's cap hit and using that 6 million should go to someone like Gaudreau, Forsberg (if they even wanna sign here), I'd even rather spend bigger on Burakovsky than Nichushkin. He is not the player we need at all and would not really move the needle for what we need as a whole. he thrives because he is the 5th/6th best option on COL, not as a 1st or 2nd option on PHI.

If you think Burakovsky is a better player than Nichushkin you haven't seen them play

Watched them play last night, that's for sure, Nichushkin was invisible, while Burakovsky was buzzing. One game, sure, but it's the norm for most nights. I'm shocked an Avs fan thinks Nichushkin is better than Burakovsky. I wish I could bet you who gets the bigger contract in the offseason, $1000 would say it's AB

Don’t get me wrong I like Nichushkin as a good all around player who could be a real valuable guy, but his production is inflated from playing on the Avs and really if the Flyers decide to make a big move for a star he isn’t it. He may be very solid but he isn’t a true star player who really moves the needle and makes us a contender. Think, with Nichushkin are we even a playoff team? To me the best course of action is to rebuild or at least retool by trying to land Bedard next year, then you start to contend once we land a superstar. This team is full of guys who are solid second liners besides Coots, now we need a real star to lead these role players and get the job done
