Description
I don't know much about the Senators prospect system, but I know they have a lot of young guys. I am unsure about the value of the fiala trade for that prospect, but this was more for the concept of the trade than the actual prospect traded

Malkin is still a beast but he doesn’t command 7m anymore. I imagine he’s be closer to 5.5 with his injury history. You basically expect about 50-55 games a season out of him.

I actually don’t mind that Fiala trade. Not what I was expecting and if the ‘23 pick is unprotected then it’s obviously a bit of a gamble but I think I’d take that.

I think I saw a post that said Crosby was upset that Letang and Malkin were only offered 5m on extensions. If 7m is too much maybe they come in at 6?

This is GMBG signing former PIT players that he played with... Looks at Goli... Expect a big overpay.

My idea is that by taking a chance on a 2023 pick, its taking a long shot at winning a lottery for Bedard. I think that's worth the gamble, even if its not great odds
