Giving up an unprotected 1st in the Bedard draft after finishing bottom 10 the year before is a real risky move. I know they are expected to be better this year but that could come back to haunt them

Any RFA that you think it'd be worth it for? Part of me thinks this is exactly why teams maybe less inclined to match the offer and we could almost scoop up a player for nothing (if we finish similar to this season or better then we can't even move up to #1 anyway, and if we do finish 9th or 10th then the odds of 5% REALLY shouldn't be something we hang our hats on)

Are the isles cap strapped? Feel like offer sheeting Dobson is just doing their negotiating for them

Islanders would match this offer with nice thank you note. They would have to send Varlamov, who is still decent, somewhere and the have to cap space.

What is an offer you think they wouldn't match? Honestly, A top 4 of Sammy, Dahly, Power and Dobby would be very solid, fast, and BIG for years to come and I think giving up draft picks next year would be worth it. Considering we have 3 1st rounders this year and our core is very young - aside from giving up our 5% shot at Bedard.. I really dont see why we wouldn't just offer Dobson whatever he wants

I am not opposed that offer sheet, but good young RHD for 5,5 is a steal. I cannot think of a way Sabres would do it. They can throw 5 years or whatever covers excatly his RFA years, but they would still match.
Offersheeting him next level, which is around 8 mil aav is bad for Sabres. They are too high on him, to let him go.
