meh, Spezza was getting paid $7.5 million before he came to play home for the Leafs for 700k.

If Gio wants to play for home, he'll accept that contract or even lower !

The team is good, but I have 3 small problems.

1. Get a 1st from CAR. Nylander still has a ton of potential to be unleashed in the next few years. I think he should be valued a little bit more.

2. When throwing in Nick Robertson, seeing his brother's success, he will be more valued. I think that CHI would accept a 5th instead of the 6th.

3. I think that Kerfoot is undervalued here. I would do a 2nd and a 4th at least. He's good all around.

Other than that, I like your roster!

Really? I think that's low. I think he would accept 2.5 Million at least. After all, he is a veteran player and was the captain of Calgary.

why would carolina throw in a first when they're already throwing in svechnikov?? svech is arguably more valuable since he's younger and has more cost-certainty

Nope, Leafs can have a 3rd for Kerfoot, no more than that cause he's just a rental

The Canes say more than no. They start calling mental hospitals to come collect you. Svech is the better all around player. Why the Canes would add more is beyond me.

Obviously you all Cane fans missed reading the title. Have any of you heard of the Wendel Clark and spare parts for Mats Sundin and spare parts with a swap of high round draft picks trade ???

I know Dubas is no Fletcher, but the idea to trade Nylander after his career best season and get the better younger player too.

I thought of Pesce and Necas for Nylander instead but even than you guys wouldn't be happy.

You agree Nylander is at least worth a 6th Rd pick ? Or are gonna dispute that too !

Svechnikov is already better though. You would have to find a young player who’s potential isn’t fully realized yet. Necas makes sense but adding peace?? I would trade peace for nylander one for one given that difference In Contracts.

If the leafs do trade nylander (they won’t, but if they do) I think you will be disappointed in the return

Also quick edit: only one of the people you quoted is a Canes fan. Everyone else is a third party fan of a team that is not the canes or the leafs

Mats was already better than Clark when Fletch made that trade, Sundin's one and only 100 + season came as a Nord.

Svech is a better 2way player but not the better offensive threat Nylander is.

Wadell just "traded" a 1st and a 2nd for a third line winger (KK) and than signed him long term at almost $5 million. Wad isn't the smartest GM we're dealing with.

I should just trade him back to the Av's, they already lost Jost and next it'll be Kadri and Burkovsky, so they'll need a new top 6 player.

Waddell also took a 1st off of dubas to take on 1 year of Marleau and has turned the hurricanes into a legitimate contender.

If your trade is based on “dumb opposing GM makes a dumb move” then Carolina is the wrong team to target

Dumb GM reeks of dealing Nylander to Minne for a Dman.... The Wild's cap issues will cause them to make a bad trade, just like Dubas trading that 1st Rd pick for a 6th Rd pick to the Canes, to get rid of Marleau contract.
