big cap hit that has had injury issues. May become a cap casualty. Small market for him bc of cap hit, but he'd be very valuable to a young D core with few options on the left side, like Detroit. Don't think you're gonna get THAT much more to call it "significantly more". Thought when he's playing well like he was in the playoffs of course his value to the team is higher, just there are other factors to consider.

As much as Wings need LHD they need a #2 center. Wings have several LHD in system, Edvisson, Wallman, Viro, Sebrango, McIssac and Johansson. It is not as pressing. They can use cap to get a stop gap LHD, Martinez, Schmidt or Petersson. The 8OA pick they could land a center, like Savoie, Lambert, Geekie or Nazar. So I can not see the Wings trading for Chychurn and can definitely see not trading for Muzzin, as he is wearing down and would nevr wave to come to Wings. Let alone can not see Wings helping Toronto in their cap situation.

By the standards of this board, good players who have a bad injury year are still worth a ton. See gibson, petry etc etc.
And joking aside, he is still, at worst a 3rd defender who just came off a very good shutdown performance of one of the best offensive teams in the league.
He's worth a lot

I like Larkin and Veleno as a 1-2 combo, and the idea of getting Chychrun to pair beside Seider is too good of an opportunity to pass up IMO. I think Muzzin is a great "stop gap" if you will for the young LD you mention. Chychrun to me, if the opportunity is there, makes a lot of sense. 8th Overall makes sense, Zadina getting a fresh start makes sense, maybe the third needs to come out?

Here's why I thought Muzzin to DET makes sense, btw
- a ton of cap space the next two seasons, so doesn't hinder DET what so ever in
- Muzzin is still a high quality player. People act like he wasn't good just because he got injured, but he's very effective still and looked great in the playoffs.
- TOR may look to move Muzzin to free up some cap space, assuming they can bring back Giordano, and also have Rielly and Sandin
- Muzzin is still pretty close to home in DET, (Toronto is 142km, while Detroit is 234km) and Muzzin would technically take home more money in Detroit than Toronto.

I do think we'd need to give up a bit more in the trade, especially if we get Joey Anderson, but its a tough one to gauge, and can't go too much, or else people lose their minds here lol
