That’s quite the hometown discount for Bergeron, highly doubt he’d take it.

Sabres decline. Too much money going into 3rd pairing LD.

Giving away Gryz for free? He's worth probably a 2nd and a 3rd.

Remember, he’s eligible for bonuses and will probably go year by year if he decides to continue!

They gotta do something...why NOT this? Unless they decide to get rid of one of their 10+MM assets, this could be the shake up they need to get to the second round.

Gryz is 2nd pairing D on most teams when healthy.

I don’t think so
If we bring on a defenseman, it’ll like be a bigger physical guy who’s more defensively oriented

Grzelcyk isn’t the type of guy we’d be looking for

Why not? Ullmark will cheaper than Campbell and is cost controlled. DeBrusk is much cheaper than Willy but is still an impact player-looked great with Marchand and bergy. Brodie is getting old and cliffy is fine-could swap him with zboril or another depth guy, doesn’t matter. PLUS a first?! Would allow Toronto to move a pick to continue replacing Brodie. Idk… I thought this was creative and pretty good

If Ulmark is cheaper because he's not as good, and even then the leafs can probably get campbell at a comparable deal
Nylander is significantly better and more valuable than debrusk and brodie is endlessly more valuable to the leafs than that pile of meh

True, but if management changes I could see something like this happening to the Leafs. Maybe not with Boston but with someone. And saying ‘this doesn’t fix anything’ is a moot statement that could be disproven AFTER it happens with the right chemistry.

If you replace better players with worse ones, you can confidently say that it makes the team worse and be right 98% of the time.
Unless you wanna trade pasta and mcavoy for kerfoot, holl and mrazek. You never know with chemistry!

You’re right, I’m wrong. I have no opinion based argument and I can see that you’re more than a match for me. You win!

Sabres are stacked on LD with Dahlin, Power and Samuelsson.

yes the Sabres have perhaps four LHD if one includes Ryan Johnson.
All the same, Grzelcyk for a fifth is a true gift if one remembers that Hagg was traded for a sixth.
It would be hard to believe that another team would not offer more.
Maybe Adams would pass, but you can be certain that Karmanos would not.
