No too familiar with him but I can't see Detroit moving Zadina for him to be honest.

i think you’d have more luck moving him as part of a package for an established player than for picks. teams don’t generally give up firsts for prospects that fell out of favor with other teams.

If you're putting him in a package, I'd agree that his value probably is similar to late 1st/early 2nd. I don't think you'd get a team to give up that type of pick straight up for him, but I think if you were trying to trade futures for an established player, he'd be worth that.

Not true what you’re saying…absolutely did not fall out of favor with NYR…to be fair- had some struggles to start last year- but keep in mind the adjustment coming from Sweden to North America….and the fact he was partner with Nemeth (who, BTW no Dman has had good numbers with).
Nils didn’t fight going to Hartford and finished strong there. This kid still projects as a top 4 Dman and should have a bright future. His biggest problem is the NYR depth chart…but he’s developing nicely and unless NYR are offered a no brainer type deal- they are best waiting him out….gotta be patient with prospects- especially those who could be studs.

maybe fell out of favor was the wrong phrase, i just meant that he fell down the depth chart and they have nowhere to play him. they seem to prefer schneider, so in the long run nils pretty much has to go.

Agree here…funny thing is though- when Fox was 21 (Nils age now)…Nils was seen as having a higher ceiling than Fox. Of course lots has changed since then! Point is that prospects’ development can go through big swings up and down. I wouldn’t give up on Nils- but yeah- does need a place to play. Lots of big decisions coming up for Drury real soon involving several players…will have to see how this affects any “open” roster spots. At some point if he’s not gonna be played they will have to move him…but will not give him away!
