The Jets aren't retaining and you need to start with less quantity and more quality.

Makes more sense for the Rangers to resign Copp around the same Cap hit, than to give up all those trade pieces.

Especially with Copp being a more well rounded player. All I ever hear about is how lazy Scheifele is on D.

The Jets can find a way better deal for Scheifele elsewhere, especially one where they won't have to retain salary.

(2) 1st round picks...a real good C prospect (whose stock has jumped since being drafted- to the point where he may nearly be one of NYR's untouchables)...Nils- who everyone loves to devalue- yet still projects as a top 4 Dman, and right handed PP QB. He did have to make the adjustment to North America...his biggest issue is his spot on the depth chart- yet ironically, he's probably better defensively than Trouba and Schneider RIGHT NOW- and will only get better.

In return NYR get a player (who by many accounts) is the epicenter of a lot which really went wrong in Winnipeg last year? And then on top of that- because making this move they have to move on from Copp- who in addition to being a great fit with NYR- also cost 3 valuable assets?

very easy no thanks from NYR

2 years of a 2nd line center for 2 firsts, 2 top prospects, and more. I don't know about that
