As long as Ovechkin, Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Wilson, Oshie, Carlson, Orlov are there the Caps will see themselves as a playoff team. Teams like the Pens and Caps don't believe their windows have closed. I agree with you. But they obviously don't.

If you are getting Toews double retained you are giving up a first. Anything else in exchange for Toews isn’t worth going through the trouble of trading him.
