Easy decline from Detroit

TBF I saw a red wings fan say that they wouldn't mind Petry as a Hronek replacement. If MTL adds enough, Hronek and Petry in the same deal is possible. This isn't enough probably, but I don't think the habs would need to add too much more either.

Detroit passes, Even if Yzerman had interest in Petry and it's doubtful. I don't see him moving Hronek for him who's younger and better at the same state of their careers.

I doubt Hronek is in the futur plans of Detroit with Edvinsson and Seider. I agree i could maybe swap something but the value is not far from reality. The guy saying add Suzuki haha, dude come on. He is a first line center

Nope Raymond+Seider >>>>>Suzuki. You keep Suzki we keep our elite franchise Dman in Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond. That makes Detroit worse not better.

Do not be an that guy.

Now here why this deal doe snot work, for I do not the 200th time.
Petry while a good player is 34, rebuilding clubs never, if the GM wants to keep his job trade 24 to for 34 to who make more money, and coming off a bad season. And do not bring g up in 2020/21 he played great. That was two years ago and he was 32. Age is a **** and will catch up to most sooner or later.
Montreal has cap issues. Why would Wings help with that?
Hronek other than +- had better stats last year.

Poehling is not a trade chip, his is a throw in.

Wings already have two 2nd round picks.

Wings need LHD and centers and before you say Poehling is a center, we have Ras and Veleno so have the bottom six covered.

You say we have cap, well we could use that cap to get other teams dumps and get picks without giving up anything.

I could give a rat butt that he is from here. I liked his dad when he pitched for tigers but that was 40 years ago.

Lastly why do most Hab fans try and trade Oetry to Detroit, and ask for the moon.

There have been Vrana for Petry, Veleno and a 1st for Petry, Zadina with no picks and a bunch of picks. Listen Wings will take Perry but they are not giving up anything of true value to do so. He wants to come home, fine, Montreal need cap, fine. But none of that causes Wings to trade value for it.

Why is that. Seider is RHD and Evidsson is LHD. You need 6 defenseman and Hroenk can be the #2 RHD

All we want is a late first for him, Its just that the excuse that Detroit fans have is "He has no spot because of Hronek". If both players are on the same team, I think Petry fits above Hronek anyways.

Hard pass for Detroit. Wings have about 15 options on D that are better and cheaper than Petry.

That was me, same deal would need to include a very nice +

No spot & Yzerman has repeatedly said he wants to acquire players that fit his core. If we use Hronek in a package for a top 6 center then sure but to swap Hronek for Petry makes no sense for Detroit.

Hronek might be traded eventually. But he's not being traded just for the sake of making a trade. That's not how Yzerman works. He builds in stages and looks to upgrade when he has an opportunity to do so. Like when he traded a 4th line plug Jacob De La Rose for Robby Fabbri.

As much as I understand your point of view, I think the Yzerplan will evolve this year to go the next level, which is start to compete. Petry would fit more in this mentality than Hnorek for the next 3 years . He would be a good vet for Seider and Edvinsson. I don't think Hnorek is gonna more than a top 4 D in his career. I could up a bit the offer, but I piratically throw Petry in the trade.

If we added the end 1st 2022 from Calgary + Petry + Poehling and retained a bit of salary from Petry like 750 000 $ or 1 250 000. Would it make more sense? However I would think we give too much in that case

I have no problem with Jeff Petry's game. I believe Habs fans when they say he struggled under Ducharme and flourished under St. Louis. I think he'll have a good season. Problem is he's a RD and we already have Seider, Hronek and Lindstrom.

If Petry were LD I'm sure Stevie would've traded for him last season. It would make no sense to trade for Petry and pay him 6.25 mil AAV to play on our 3rd D pair and make Lindstrom a 7D. I don't know why Habs fans are so adamant in trading Petry to Detroit just because he's a Michigan boy.

We both know Montreal won't make that trade (Trading a late 1st). I don't think Montreal will have any problem trading Petry this summer because he's a RD who's only a year removed from having a good season. It just won't be in Detroit. We need to add at least one vet LD to buy time for Edvinsson, Johansson and Wallinder. As for vet leadership, Stevie has that covered with Marc Staal. I fully expect him to be re-signed. Is he as good as Petry is? No. But he's a LD only making 2 mil AAV playing on the 3rd pair with Lindstrom.
