say price decides to LTIRetire due to his knee, and same for byron with his hip. opens up lots of cap possibilities
i think montreal should go into a quick retool if price is done. stockpile picks and prospects, take on cap dumps, etc

I’m not saying Drouin at 2.75 is worth a first or that Kerfoot is worth a 1st, but I’m just shocked that I’ve seen a lot of people tradinf Drouin at 2.75 mil for a very solid return when Kerfoot, the guy with much better production and the better two way player (at 3.5 mil with the same term) is apparently only going to get a late 3rd round pick as a return? It just doesn’t make sense to me

i think its because of the leafs' cap squeeze. GMs wont pay full price for kerfoot knowing the leafs need to clear up cap space. i personally believe both players could get a first though

I think Drouin will be traded at 2023 trade deadline with 50% salary retained only if he's having a good season, over 50 points pace.

Lehkonen was a hard sale too, but Habs got what they wanted, and Avs are very happy with what they got. Same for Chiarot with Florida.

If Drouin comes back as good as he can be, i got no doubt he could fetch a 1st. If not, just let him walk in 1 year. If they extend him, i swear...

if MTL isn't contending next year (which should be the case unless like wright, caufield, suzuki start scoring 80 pts) then i believe drouin is traded. maybe they try getting whatever they can for him, similar to chiarot. i see drouin getting 50-60 pts next year because i think he'll get a chance with suzuki and caufield

I understand the logic with it 100%, but at the same time I think if teams are interested in Kerfoot enough, a mini bidding war could start for him if yk what I mean. Like no teams gonna see Kerfoot going for a 3rd and say “yeah I won’t top that offer even tho I think he’s worth way more because of Toronto’s situation”. Teams would likely focus on themselves first

Drouin doesnt have any value rn. Always injured, mental health problems, inconsistent play.

Petry can go for much more. Teams have shown what price they are willing to pay for a top4 RHD especially one that finished with 21 pts his last 28 games and has only improved into his 30's. I think many here are WAY WAY undervaluing him simply because of his age without knowing his late blooming history.

Klingberg ain't coming here , especially for 1 year

Wideman is getting 1m too much lol

1m too much for Zadorov

200k too much for Hunt

400k too much for Helm

400k too much for Mamin

1 too much for Dauphin

Lazar gets 1,5m

Add Gurianov to the deal

That would be at the deadline, as of right now, drouins value is like a 2nd + 4th, I think if he plays well at the deadline he can get 1st + 3rd

Edmonton deal is fine

I don't get the point of signing all these bottom 6 guys and bottom pair guys, just play the young guys

Unless 27 year old Drouin has a breakout and becomes a line driving PPG player, he’s not getting anywhere near this return. I’m rooting for him, but this is unrealistic
