Trocheck gets $1,000,000 more and 2 years of term more.

And no thanks on Ryan Murray he can't stay healthy.

Is everyone good with Trocheck @ $6.5M x 6yrs?

Who do you like as the new coach?

Yeah $6,500,000 x 6 years is fine with Vincent Trockeck might have to spend a little more to convince him to come to Detroit. Even though he does have ties there.

I'm leading towards 3 possible HC Derek Lalonde, Benoit Groulx or Rikard Gronborg the Swedish HC sounds like Yzerman is high on him.

The term worries me more about Trocheck than the money. He plays such a reckless (in the best way) style of game and I'd love him here for the next 2-3 years until he completely destroys his body and is a shell, so it just comes down to how many years are we willing to trade on the backend for the good years up front? To me, anything over 5 years and I don't think the Wings should touch it with a thousand foot pole, and he'll almost certainly be looking for a 6-7 year deal.

I'm fine with signing Trochek for 5 years/$6.5 mil AAV. I don't know if he'd sign here though. I had Lambert first on my list. That's no longer an option. I really don't know who Stevie will hire. Maybe Stevie doesn't either. LOL

Yeah if Vinny wants 6-7 years I'll pass.

I could see Yzerman going to 7 if he had too, to get him here.

I really thought Lambert was the next coach, but Lou beat him to the punch. I would like Trotz, but I beleive he goes to Vegas or Winnepeg..

As far as who is the next coach I know Yzerman is high on Gronborg, Lalonde, or a dark horse, Rick Tocchet.

Sign me up.

Trocheck checks off a lot of boxes:

-right handed
-centerman
-good on faceoffs
-responsible defensively
-chips in offensively
-would take pressure off Larkin
-has ties to Detroit

He is easily #1 on my summer wish list. I think he's worth 5.5, but I'm ok over-paying.

I almost wonder if strome is a better fit with vrana than trocheck but I'd take either at about that number. Who knows about the coach but I'm going with Jim Montgomery.

Like most here the cap hit doesn't matter as much as the term.

What about Rikard Grönborg he's considered one of the best coaches in Europe and Lidstrom was an advisor for the 2016 World Cup and the
Wing’s just added Lidstrom to their hockey operations staff. He also coach Kronwall.

Gronborg will definitely be in play. Verbeek is gone now so it's Lidstrom whispering in Stevie's ear. It could happen.
