Description
signings explanation.
mikheyev: allivin is targeting him since he is fast and brings grit. 3.4 mil for a young player on a 3 year contract is ideal. basically fits the needs of allvin

gagner: needed a RHS for C 3rd line. got him bc he played in VAN before and did good somehow. one year contract only so we dont have to trade him this time. can move up the lineup, vet, locker room guy if you watched the canucks airplane videos

simon: put up 28 points in bottom 6 role in PIT. that team was bulit by rutherford and i beleiev he will give him a contract.

overall. this team is a playoff team. bounced 1st or 2nd round depending on who the play but the point is that they stock up on prospect and get younger. got younger and faster and have some grit now. dcore needs a bit more work but i think its good for now.

draft
canucks take a winger but i like kasper or gauther. either one is fine. other rounds we take dman and if someone falls then we take

Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Kapanen, Kasperi [RFA Rights]
  2. Marino, John
  3. 2024 3rd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
PITS needs a replacement for geno. I feel like this is the best you can get. if they went to FA they player they would want would prolly want term and lots of money. Miller only has 5 mil and contract is done next season. he prolly will resign for 8 mil and below. giving kappy and marino hurts but t hey need to make one last push.
PIT
  1. Miller, J.T.
Additional Details:
for nucks fans saying. "miller should get more" this is the fairest deal imo. getting kappy is nice considering he is fast and young and that fills vans needs. playing with more oppurtunity could boost his points. my only problem with him is his work effort. otgher than that he is fine. marino is hughes dman partner for the next few years. shutdown dman RHD fills vans needs aswell
2.
VAN
  1. Faber, Brock [Reserve List]
  2. Grundström, Carl [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
LA needs a LHD. OEL is a vet, very good defensivly, and could give you 30 points a season. he would fit perfectly with LA imo. he has postive value as a player, he brings alot for a team. (leader, vet, mature) he forsure waive for LA since their is alot of swedish heritage their/players. LA giving up Faber doesnt hurt them as much considering they have so many RHD prospects.
LAK
  1. Ekman-Larsson, Oliver ($2,500,000 retained)
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
if nucks were to move OEL contract they would have to retain salary. its been rumored for a while now that LA would trade for OEL. nucks get B+ dman prospect and a depth forward.
3.
VAN
  1. 2022 6th round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
when dicky was in DAL he was a great shutdown C and great locker room guy. followed him when he was in dallas and watched tons of games while in DAL. he would fit perfectly and return as nothing had happened.
DAL
  1. Dickinson, Jason
  2. 2022 5th round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
capdump mainly, he slightly has negative value but i think DAL is willing to take him back
4.
VAN
  1. Sanheim, Travis
Additional Details:
Needs change of scnery imo. not playing the same like he used too.
getting picks and young dman is good for the rebuild if they even are
PHI
  1. Dermott, Travis
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
they need a LHD to replace OEL not givivng up much for a guy who could be a stud
5.
VAN
  1. 2022 1st round pick (NSH)
  2. 2022 4th round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
PREDS 17ovr
they would prolly want to take a foward here
NSH
  1. 2022 1st round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
VAN 15th ovr
been rumored that canucks willing to move down in the draft. i see them selecting marco kasper orgren or lambert if he falls. dont see any dman in that range (high teens)
6.
VAN
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
a early 3rd basically. getting a fringetop6 foward. eill help them alot of the PP and even PK. can play top minutes and few. sdding more depth for their playoff push. a winner too, they dont have alot of winners there
OTT
  1. Pearson, Tanner
Additional Details:
bounce back year for pearson. fit well eith miller but now miller is gone i found it hard to see him having succes again other than playing with bo or something like that. making 3mil isnt ideal too
7.
VAN
  1. DeBrusk, Jake
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (BOS)
  3. 2022 3rd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Debrusk requested a trade and i believe he is from VAN. been rumored that VAN and BOS would be trade partners this offseason. either it was jt miller or garly going. believe boston would want garly. hometown kid will play alot better in BOS then in VAN imo.
BOS
  1. Garland, Conor
Additional Details:
nucks need picks. they need to stock up on prospects. nucks went from the best prospect pools 3-4 years ago now to one of the worst. they need to fill in the jim benning mistakes. trading garly hurts when he hasnt felt himself yet. but i dont think alivvin would include garly apart of the future plan. idk i could be wrong but this is what i think. getting debrusk is good too. 27goal scorer aint bad. confindent he will step up his game since he is in a new team/market

If one of Provy/Sanheim were to go, after Sanheim just had the best year of his career it would be Provorov, and for a lot more then that. Unless contract talks have been going bad and they wont be able to resign.

Not hating, just honesty.

That's about as bad a trade as I've seen on this site for LA. I've also not heard a single rumour that the Kings are interested in OEL. Source please?

Trying to convince anyone that OEL's contract, even with some retention, is positive value is a futile effort. And then underselling the Kings second best defensive prospect as a "B+" is just icing on the cake. And you want a legit roster player, too?

Woof. Thats a swing and a miss on this one.

Sanheim just had a career year and is worth way more. Dermott and the VAN 1st is probably closer.

And if you consider Mikheyev a young player, than that makes Sanheim a young player worth more.

Gagner? IDK. There are much better options out there than he is. I could see a Mikheyev signing, but not a Gagner type player for anything more than they can bury in the minors.
