No thanks from the Sabres imo
Don’t think we’d want either of those forwards, as we have young guys coming up that we wanna get in the lineup
Adding on a 2nd & 4th wouldn’t be enough to convince us to hold back the young guys about to make the jump up

As Buffalo I`d rather have Olofsson for 5x4,5 than Kapanen for about same cap hit. Picks are late, Zucker is cap dump. Pass.

When did John Marino become as valuable as a 90 point player?

Marino + Heinen For JT. The fact that Vancouver is desperate for a top 4 RHD & that Marino is young & signed to a very team friendly deal for 5 more yrs makes his value go up substantialy. Heinen is a 15+ goal scorer, young, and also cost controlled- He is also from Langley BC so would basically be a hometown boy playing for the Canucks.
JT Miller has 1 yr left before he is a UFA and over 30. I think this is a better deal for the Canucks than getting a 1rst rnd pick and some prospects from somewhere else if they dont want to do a rebuild and they plan to resign Hovart over Miller next yr anyways.

No. I like the trocheck and marchment signings, but what we really need is a hitter like mcginn. And giving up a fringe second liner and a blooming offensive defensemen who has a respectful d game, for a solid but pending UFA winger and an old but solid dman is not a good trade. And adding a fourth to Vancouvor is not helping.

Here is the Skinny.
First, it is unlikely that Buffalo will trade away one asset and receive four in return.
Buffalo top four goal scorers are Thompson, Skinner, Okposo and Olofsson, 38, 33, 21 and 20.
Following them are: Cozens,13; Tuch, 12; Asplund, 8; Hinostroza, 13; Krebs, 7 (48 games); Mittelstadt, 6 (40 games); Girgensons, 10 (56 games).
Kapanen and Zucker have 11 and 8 goals respectively.
Buffalo needs more 20 goal scorers and should not be trading one away for two forwards who together only have 19.
Second, playing with a wrist injury over the first 38 games Olofsson had 5 goals, 16 assists, 21 pts and was -17.
After his wrist healed, over his final 34 games he had 15 goals, 13 assists, 28 pts and was +1.
IMO, his production next year will be more similar to his last 34 games.
Third Kapanen, Zucker,2023 2nd and 2022 4th may be more valuable than Olofsson.
Over his past 79 games, Zucker has 17 goals so while not a pure cap dump, he is significantly over paid.
Kapanen did not KP in Pittsburgh but was did it very well in Toronto.
Maybe Buffalo would have made a trade as this if their top forwards were Eichel, Kane, O'Reilly and Reinhart and needed a couple of top 6 forwards, that is not the situation now.
Finally, it may be very difficult to keep these prospects out of the line up next year:
Quinn 45 games 26 goals, 35 ast, 61 pts:
Peterka 70 games, 28 goals, 40 ast, 68 pts, (playoffs) 7 games, 4 goals, 5 ast, 9 pts:
Ruotsalainen 57 games, 18 goals, 33 ast, 51 pts (playoffs), 7 games, 8 goals, 3 ast 11 pts
IMO with this information, I think it is easy to see why this is an EASY PASS for Buffalo.

EDIT
If you wanted Olofsson and were willing to dump Zucker, maybe a deal could be made for Marino.
I do not think Buffalo will be trading Olofsson unless they think Peterka or Ruotsalainen are ready for prime time.
