I have absolutely no interest in Kadri as a 1C and certainly not in Strome at that trade cost and contract.

Also - the salary cap still exists. And you are over it. With 20 players.

So you’re over the cap and have three roster spots to fill.
Where did Clifton go?

More importantly, if bergeron is done - there is no route to competing.

First of all the cap is not flat, I could have gone up to a cap hit of 82/83 mil if I wanted because this was the cap hit from 2021. Clifton is down in the minors, I personally prefer him as a 7th d man and I liked zboril's game a lot more pre injury. Also to respond to your point about "no route to competing" I disagree I think this team can 100% compete, Kadri is an upgrade over Bergy and Strome is an upgrade over Haula.

My goodness that is all delusional (except for the cap going up by about a million, but you’ll still be over once you fill the roster).

Obviously Bergy is amazing and has had a much better career, but I'm not sure why its delusional to say Kadri was better than him last szn. Bergy is 36 years old its no shot at him at all, but I'm just being unbiased we'll get better play from Kadri than Bergy next year. I'm fine with both though.

Well your first problem is just looking at this past season and solely at offensive production vs the whole package. How is Kadri going to handle drawing the other teams top players? In Colorado Kadri has the luxury of playing behind one of the best lines in hockey and not having to deal with other teams best lines.

Kadri got red hot for a couple weeks. Bergeron is clearly the better player, even at this age. Kadri isnt a 1C.
Strome in boston would be a disaster. Soft. One dimension. Brutal.
