Fiala for Brown with 50% retention + 7th overall??

I think you are severely underrating Brown.

No interest in Jost, rather have Bastian...cheaper and can be called up when games get physical. Jost doesn't seem worth his contract.

Devils are good with Bastian
Jost just skates around in circles without purpose.

Or you severely underrate Fiala. He is the much MUCH better player. Make no mistake. Fiala was a top 20-30 player in the NHL last year. He just unfortunately priced himself out of Minnesota.

And you severely underrate Top 10 picks at the draft.

Fiala might be the much better player.

But Brown is one of the best defensive forwards in the league.

And I don't see why a Top 10 pick should be the difference in value that separates Brown from Fiala.

Ottawa declines.

I don't know if they would. I think they would accept. Without the retention though. That is a bit much for a GM that doesn't like retaining salary.

We would not accept.

We would decline.

And you're not shoving it down our throats.

Eliminating the retention won't make a difference.

And if our GM doesn't like retaining salary, then we wouldn't have traded Nick Paul to Tampa.

Try again.

I guess we have to agree to disagree. Have a nice day.
