Im not sold on the Palat signing.. not really sure if he fits or brings the value Detroit needs with the younger core. I like the start here, maybe bring back Stall 1 year $2M to sure up the blueline with a veteran that the guys like.

My thought behind that is that Yzerman likes to have as much competition on the roster as possible (see TB). There's also been talk recently that Yzerman may be looking for both a 2C and a top 6 winger this offseason. He knows Palat, who would be a veteran on this team, and another Czech to compliment Zadina & Vrana.

I don't mind the palat signing at all. As long as he would be ok with possibly playing on the third line. I think he's a pretty good team guy though. I would want my younger guys getting the most opportunity as possible.

Only thing I think is that Copp resigns in new York. I would give Suter or veleno that spot in the line up. I don't think the fourth line will help veleno much.

I am hopeful that Copp would prefer to be back in MI where he grew up. We won't know until we know!

I totally agree regarding Veleno. I want him at 3C (at minimum) as much as possible, and would really prefer him there over Suter (which is partially why I propose trading Suter at the TDL).

I really hope the new coach plays both Suter and Veleno at 2C to be honest. Suter can play there but is best suited for 3C in my opinion. I want to see if veleno could make the most out of the opportunity.
