There is literally a 0% chance that San Jose gives up a possible lottery pick next year in a loaded draft to move Vlasic. They would just buy him out and have a shot a Bedard or others

Rn they are positive assets. Thqt takes into account length of contract and age and everything. In a year i have no idea if theyll be positive assets who knows how they play?

Hawks aren't giving away a first. Johnson is easily buried or bought out and for a team not against the cap moving McCabe is not a big concern; the 1st rounder is way more important.

They’re not positive assets right now either. Bailey had 44pts in 74 games but only 14 goals and has two years left at $5m per. Those are kessel numbers and Arizona couldn’t move him for half retained.

Palmieri had 33pts in 69 games but only 15 goals, also at $5m per for 3 more years. Those are guys you’re paying to move, sorry to say

Bailey was on pace for 48+ points in 82 games. Im sorry at 5 million for 2 more years thats not a cap dump. And thats without taking into account that hes a leader in the locker room.
Palmieri is a different story. He had a disaster of a 1st half to the season (1 goal in 29 games). The 2nd half of the season he was pretty dominant. 14 goals in 40 games (is a 28 goal pace) plus he had 7 points (including 6 goals) that were called goals on the ice and were overturned by video. Thats a LOT of goals called back. Not saying arizona makes any sense to trade with but isles shouldnt be paying to move either of them.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it takes a 1 to move either of them or even both in the same deal, but from the viewpoint of a rebuilding team they’re likely seen as dumps and would want to be paid for them. It makes the most sense for the isles to just play them another year and see what the value is come this time next year. Palmieri has pedigree as a solid playoff contributor so if they get back they could definitely build both of their values that way.

So like i said arizona makes no sense to take them (and would treat them as cap dumps) but from an islanders perspective they arent considering them cap dumps.
