Minnesota's point of view. They have a lot of dead cap the next three years due to parise/suter buyouts and will not give Fiala what he wants.

New Jersey. If they want a wing just draft slafkovsky. Fiala is a great player but I would have reservations about throwing the 2nd overall plus the bag at him

I say this every time one of these trades comes up. Is whoever you get for that pick going to be better than whoever is picked when the devils are contenders.

And too bad Luke Hughes is playing another season at Michigan. if you're lucky he might be able to play in 6 games for NJ towards the tail end of the season.

No deal as devs fan. Fiala isn't worth the 2OA normally, let alone with the cap crunch Minnesota is facing rn. Devils know Minnesota is in a tough spot.

Devils should keep the pick. They could draft a winger with the pick who could be cheaper, younger, and potentially better than Fiala
