Description
This is not what I’d do if I was a GM but I was reworking the trades from other ACGMs that weren’t horrible

Trades
1.
NJD
  1. Armia, Joel
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
3 years at 3.4 is 10.2 million which has 3x the term and 5.7 million more than Tatar. Tater puts up historically better numbers so at minimum Montreal ads this 3rd
2.
NJD
  1. Kassian, Zack
  2. Tullio, Tyler
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (EDM)
  4. 2024 5th round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
I don’t see NJ adding Kassian but I think a prospect along with the two picks is the only way Edmonton can get rid of that 6.4 million
EDM
  1. 2023 7th round pick (NJD)
3.
NJD
  1. Blueger, Teddy
  2. Pettersson, Marcus
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Blueger and McLeod would be there to balance out and Pittsburg might be looking to save 1.2 million. Saw the 2024 second being talked about instead of 2023 but Zacha can probably get NJ a 2023 second from some other teams
4.
NJD
  1. McDonough, Aidan [Reserve List]
  2. Myers, Tyler
  3. 2023 1st round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
This one actually interests me personally. Myers had a decent season this year. Not 6 aav good but he can also slot in PKs spot. In the ACGM I saw this trade was one where Vancouver acquired another 1st rounder. So I’m using Vancouver’s 2023 as a filler. Maybe Vancouver does this and makes the conditions on the pick similar to that of JT miller’s first they sent to Tampa
5.
NJD
  1. Colton, Ross
Additional Details:
This one’s interesting cause he’s from NJ. Tampa has him on an unmovable contract (in a good way) but when he’s up for a new deal I can see them flipping him for Boqvist if Bo is on a more favorable contract and puts up points in the 30’s
TBL
  1. Boqvist, Jesper [RFA Rights]
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (PIT)
6.
NJD
  1. Engvall, Pierre [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
This would be a hockey trade of engval wants more than 2 million and wants term which Toronto might not want.
TOR
  1. Johnsson, Andreas ($1,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Johnsson has been on the middle six in the past for Toronto so I think it can be something Dubas has interest especially at under 2 million for one more year
7.
NJD
  1. 2023 4th round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
For a team ahead of schedule and getting bounced in the first round having bastian and Lemieux in the bottom six to throw their weight around and be young can be very beneficial for the younger skill guys around the lineup

VAN won’t pay to get rid of Myers; he’s only got two years left on his deal and was decent last year. Now OEL on the other hand…

Vancouver will not be paying to get rid of Tyler Myers. He’s actually useful for us and can eat up big minutes.

The Armia deal IS horrible. Devils are better off with Foote or Gritsyuk next year than paying Armia. That's a bad contract. It is way too short term thinking on cap room of which we are more than fine this year...think 2023-24.

Same for Kassian...The Devils rule should be "NO BAD CONTRACTS WITH EXTRA YEAR(s) FOR THE SAKE OF A MOVE". Just build with good hockey players. This isn't the team that had no prospects and had to fill-in with Brunners and Ryders.

Tampa says no, Colton has been way too clutch and if he is moved, it will be for overpayment

TOR would need to go cheaper than AJ, I can't see them wanting him back.

I don't get why we trade Bastian unless Zetterlund or someone can fill that spot in front of the net on the PP as we did actually see a turn with him.

I would need to get something big to take on Myers as his track record isn't good and that is a bulky contract, but I understand if Nucks fans think he's turning a corner there and don't want to give up to trade him...then he should stay there. Doesn't seem to make sense from either side.

TB needs those cheap deals, makes no sense why they do it.

As for the PIT trade, I'm fine with that deal, even if it is a 2024, when PIT could very well be falling off heavier. Would make Graves far more available for a move if Bahl and Smith can battle over the 3rd LHD spot.

Is Myers available/ at what cost?

Think the same as OP, if you put Myers on the right with Hamilton/ Severson be really solid.

He might not cost much but the Canucks won’t be spending assets to get rid of him. I think Management has the idea of selling high. Myers is a massive puck moving, big minute RHD. To us fans, he may not seem appealing but GM’s probably do. Ristolainen got the 14OA last year. Do I think Myers gets that? No but I think if he were to be traded, it would be a for a second/third round pick. His contract is expensive but he’s still a solid player

How does that trade make even the slightest amount of sense for the Pens?

They're losing the 3 most valuable assets in the trade.

McLeod is a bum, they don't have any need for Zacha. Blueger alone is more valuable to the Pens than both of those guys, and that's without mentioning Pettersson or the 2nd round pick.
