No reason for Sabres to do that trade. If anthing, they will be looking to move up in draft. Prospect pool is deep, but lack that top talent. 3x 2nd round pick does not help this situation.

Why does basically every single red wings fan on this site think Hronek is going to win the fricking Norris trophy or something lol… he’s not that good. You’d be hard pressed to get a first round pick in return for him, let alone a top 10 scorer in his prime. I realize it isn’t one for one, but Nylander and Mrazek for Bert is generous for the red wings all things considered, and Holtz absolutely does not make up for things, or even come close to it.

If you want my suggestion on making this trade fair, replace Marner with Alex Kerfoot. Then the leafs would do it.

Also PS. You realize that NJ first is 2nd overall, right? They don’t do this either.

It's not even good for Detroit, we gain a better forward player but costs twice as much. Then we take on a locker room cancer in Mrazek? No thanks. Second overall is good but no guarantee it works out, likely does though. This trade is just bad for everyone.

This draft doesn't look like it has much "top talent". Certainly not at 16th overall. The 23 2nd has a better chance of producing a top player than this year's 16th

Wishful thinking. No way next year picks 40-60 are better in prospects that this year 16th.
