Someone will likely do that Holl trade, but I doubt it's the Hawks. The need to provide NHL ice time to Regula and Mitchell as well as Jones/Murphy.

Don’t know if we would accept without Gibson in this deal

Mrazek and Muzzin are both cap dumps to us

Muzzin is not a cap dump at all lmao. He’s a very capable 2LD and would help Anaheim for sure. They have the cap space to take on his maybe $1M too expensive contract. Mrazek sure, he is, but that’s why Robertson and the 1st are there. It could be changed to a 2023 1st, and kerfoot could be there instead of mrazek and he could be dumped elsewhere

I don’t think he has much positive value for the Ducks at all. He would block young guys who need to play and stunt their development

Don’t say he was a cap dump in general but for Anaheim that’s about what his value likely would be (although shipping him out of Toronto would be for cap so by definition wouldn’t he be a cap dump at that point?)

It would be a very tough decision to move out Muzzin from Toronto. The only reason why he’s going is for cap reasons. There’s a lot they’re leaving behind with him. He’s a veteran D that’s still good and would massively help them imo. What young guys on LD would he be blocking? He’s also a decent lindholm replacement

Considering Holl is without a doubt an NHL defenceman who can be counted on for serviceable 15+20 minutes a night, yeah someone would definitely take him for way less than he's worth. The Hawks or any team would be ridiculous to turn down this trade. You get him for the cost of upgrading a pick and can then move him for more than that immediately because this trade is obviously stupid.

Mrazek bounces back and you have more future assets for nothing. Muzzin is not a cap dump, he was stellar in the playoffs and would be a guy who you could move at the deadline for more than you paid. All so you can get 1st and Robertson for a goalie who has had a sub .905 sv% for 3 straight seasons. I would say that's a good value for you.

Yes, you're absolutely right -- just listen to yourself. Muzzin's cap hit for his injury history is way too high and Mrazek is a cap dump, so Robertson and the first balance that out. For that, you get the Pittsburgh 2022 second. That has nothing whatsoever to do with five years of starting goaltender John Gibson.

He was stellar in the playoffs and stank or was injured during the regular season. Since your main focus is on your perception that John Gibson is a bad goalie, you wouldn't be trading for him at all.

Um...ok. I guess TOR wants Brett Connolly with this logic? I mean...if he bounces back you have more future assets for nothing!

Muzzin isn’t a cap dump but ok, and replace mrazek with kerfoot. I think that’s fair. Gibson was by no means a world beater this year so idk how much y’all want for him

Honestly I wouldn't unless it was a very good deal. I don't know if he's going to bounce back or not. Or be better than Campbell who definitely won't get more than 5.

Except he was never worth what he gets paid. Muzzin certainly is
