This Isn't really a trade, this is just me signifying who I would let walk and trade when it comes to guys who are on the outside of the NHL or in RFAcy. Also for cleaning up the reserve list of guys who will never make it. Once again, not a trade, just cleaning up so it's easier to look at.

Leafs take a gamle on a player who missed the season who has been a great middle six winger and could make a jump with top players and a great medical staff. NJ is paid for Mrazek's overpaid contract as a decent backup to Blackwood.

NYI could use a top 4 LHD and I believe Lou is the type of old-school GM that would jump at acquiring Muzzin for cheap. Leafs pick-up a top tough guy in Johnston and a great, cost-effective 4/5 D in Mayfield who is great defensively and also pretty tough. Would also make a great partner for POJ or Rielly.

Pens decline. This is a downgrade for them and they have no need for Holl. If the Pens let Letang walk, Holl doesn't help our cause. Blueger is a better player than Kerfoot.

Isles say no, not moving Mayfield for Muzzin.

Mayfield is a bargain. Can't see Isles doing that.

Devils say no, also Wood's QO is $3.5m. Why would he sign 2yr $1.9?

No sense for the Islanders to do that. There are other, younger, less expensive LD available in trade or in the open market. Mayfield is probably their best pending UFA asset so why would they flip him for a 33 year old Jake Muzzin (and his $5.625M cap hit) instead of a younger player and/or futures?
