Description
Only the starting point. Premature to guess on who or what trades could happen. Gotta believe a retool us coming but when & how who knows.

I’ll start with Boeser on a sorta show me contract.
Looks like a low ball so could add say 250k.

Presuming albeit hopeful Kuzmenov signs. Predicated on he’s promised a real top 6 role & plays with either Miller or Petey. As for PP1 don’t see since it’s looking good so PP2 for sure. Is that enough to sway him into signing? Maybe. Also this helps the cap get into better shape.

Also presuming Martin is signed to back up Demko & further save cal space. A bit risky.

Top 9 scoring depth should be better & Hog being healthy he’s expected to up his game. Pod after a year of culture & NHL transition WILL be improved I’m more than sure of.

Rathbone will get his chance to be a steady NHLer whether 2nd pair or 3rd his role will be a puck mover improving breakouts & D scoring.

Lockwood will be an energy guy & time to earn his time in the bigs.

Paul if we can sign him would be tge key UFA to add sandpaper & depth scoring & energy. Wishful thinking but still hoping he can be convinced to sign here. Tough to peg the money & also he’ll generate lots of interest. He & Lammi can swap positions if needed.

On Dickinson he stays if no takers but be my 1st player to move for cap space. Nothing wrong with him & maybe he only needed a year to adjust after traded here. Needs to bring more.

Remaining cap space pays bonuses & buys time til if or when Miller & Bo are resigned.

Y’all can suggest big trades & explain the how & why. Cheers 🍺

I like Paul as a UFA target as well, but I'm betting some team pays about a million more on the AAV and gives more term so that he can be their 3C. Canucks may want to be in on that.

Canucks could add $’s if the term satisfies them. In my scenario he could move up to Bo’s line & let Hog earn his TOI especially in a shut down role. He allows for more depth for Pod & Hog to be better insulated if they have peaks & valleys.

I think that the most obvious trade would be one involving JT miller, Ideally we would get 3-4 pieces with 3 being more likely. It would be nice to get a RD, forward and a 1st. Pens and caps come to mind as suitors

Good job though, I think that RD OWL will get some serious consideration

You have to wonder why Boeser would sign that deal. So it takes him to UFA...so does 2 years at the QO on the deal the team signed him to. And I don't get any sense that he has interest in signing long term. It's almost June, if he was going to extend, he'd likely have done it by now. He's in the driver's seat on this, and the smart thing for him to do is sign the QO. Smart thing for the team is to trade him, and bring in a second line winger at money that fits the role. Boeser would likely welcome a deal that puts him closer to home, anyways.

When has signing a high scoring European that hasn't played in North America by the age of 25 ever worked out? Granted, my memory ain't what it used to be, but I think you have to go back to Larionov and Makarov. It does not work. Personally, I hope Kuzmenov wastes someone else's time. And that's what it will cost this team. More wasted time.

That Rathbone / Myers pairing would scare the hell out of me if I were Demko. No thanks. OEL and Myers were fine together, leave them alone and get a top pairing RHD for Hughes to play with (no disrespect to Schenn, he's done a great job). Let Rathbone earn his way into a top 4 role.

Sorry, I just don't see how that team gets them any closer to contention.

Intent is the process of 1st getting the cap in a position of flexibility. The roster should push for a PO spot. During the offseason trades can still occur if the price is met. The TDL will be next up when it’s known if real improvement or not has happened. JR indicated need for better structure & this will determine his course of action on what unfolds.
