Also it is well established that the asking price for taking on the Petr Mrazek contract is the firstborn son of Austin Mathews and half ur farm team.

Dubas won't admit his mistake and take 4 yrs of dead cap, after finally freeing the Leafs of the Kessel dead cap he created way back in 2015.

Yea, probably remove the 3rd for a 4th. Roni is worth a 2nd Rd pick.

Wrong, Dubas (fine I'll include Mark Hunter's name here too, Co Assistant GM's until Lou was hired) made the Kessel to Pens trade with retain salary, look it up.

Do yourself a favor, click on the Leafs team page here, click on Dubas name, click on trades and scroll down to his earliest trades completed.

It's wise not to argue with me, I'm normally right.

I accept your apology in advance.

I vividly remember the Kessel trade because I was so outraged that they allowed a rookie 30 year old take charge in trading the franchise player.

Nonis was fired before the 2015 Draft, allowing Dubas and Hunter be in control than. Lou was still employed as CEO of the Devils until after the 2015 Nhl draft and UFA signing frenzy. So Dubas is the man in the record book for all of the 2015 summer roster moves.

I highly doubt they would want to bring back the failed Bernier either

He admitted that Nick Ritchie was a mistake, and moved him. Every transaction can’t be a home run.
Bunting, Kampf, and Kase were good low risk signings.

Well Lyboosh was a part of that trade and he ended up being a top 4 Dman, so getting a top 4 Dman rental cost the Leafs a 2nd Rd pick, not the cash dump bribe to unload Ritchie.

Or at least that is what Dubas and his followers will say to defend his moves.

Do yourself a favour dude, Blame Hunter as well not just Dubas & I guess you choose to complain about Kyle cause you think someone can do way better also being an arrogant person on CF is pretty pathetic plus Lou paid Marleau 6 x3 & left Kyle to deal with it

um... I did include Hunter's name, But Hunter was the head of scouting, so I don't know how much say he had in trades. All Dubas lovers like to point out, Hunter drafted Dermott, Dubas wanted Aho. I guess Dubas should have been more of a stronger voice and than the Leafs would have had Aho in their roster too.

And I forgive you.

LOL, how do you connect the Marleau contract to the Kessel dead salary cap space.

I recommended this scenario a while ago from Devils perspective. NJD can’t utilize LTIR, they have to pay Bernier same as any other player. Might as well be paying someone who is playing,

Mrazek has always been a yoyo player, one good season followed by one bad season. There is a good chance his history repeats itself and he has a bounce back season.

That 6 was more of an issue than 1.2 for 7 years

I can't say anything with certainty, but I wonder when Lou signed Marleau to the 3rd extra "problematic" season, Lou was in believe that not all his rookies would be coming off their elc all at the same time. Marner jumping straight to the Nhl, with zero minor league time spent was a huge surprise to everyone. If the Leafs had a contract slide for Marner's 1st season, than Dubas wouldn't have been stuck with a summer to resign Matthews, Marner, Kapanen and Johnsson. That's $29 million on those 4 rookies, or like a $20 million raise to factor into the salary hit from the previous 3 seasons.
