Wouldn't it be wiser, to trade him somewhere with retaining 3-4 mil of the deal ? He still could be worth that 6-7 cap hit for other team

Got to be a kind of a lucic for Neal type deal out there, possibly a tavares for bob, but major cap issues on both sides to make that work. But could be some interesting options out there, 4x10 is nasty though.

Bob played well, he was hardly the problem for Florida.

Bob played like a ~6M goalie this year. It'd be better to trade him while retaining 4M. Saves money and wouldn't have to worry about those pesky 1,75M cap penalties down the road.

Of course, Bob would have to waive his NMC. That may not be too big of a problem if the alternative is a buyout, tho

But like then wouldn't you need a 6M goalie to replace him? Those don't grow on trees either and Knight is definitely not there yet

Bob is Bob in the playoffs. The Panthers problem was they couldn’t score. To beat Tampa it takes a team that can physically dominate them. When Columbus beat them, which was the last team to do so in the playoffs, they also not only were physical but the Jackets suffocated them with defense. Torts knew the game plan to beat them and the Jackets were tough on them in the bubble too.

It's not Bob's fault Florida couldn't score any goals.

Yeah, but that same problems arises with a buyout, too. Realistically, the Panthers are stuck with Bobrovsky for at least another year.

I think he's fine. Sure he is expensive but he was hardly the reason they lost by 1 twice. Did they get goalied? Yes but that's not on Bob, that's Vasilevskiy once again proving he is the best player in the entire playoffs.

islanders dont trade 13OA for Duclair. he aint that good. Bob could get value if you retain 2-3 mil, cheaper than a buyout and less term.

Yeah, Bob seemed to be one of the best, if not the best, players the Panthers had in the postseason. It's not Bob's fault they lost since they scored 3 goals in 4 games.
