IMO, with the Leafs tricky cap situation, 7m X 2 years Nylander can be had pretty cheap...if little cap is returned to the Leafs.

Lemieux is most definitely coming back.

The third and 4th lines will be:
Iafallo-Byfield-Grundstrom
Lemieux-Lizotte-(Vilardi/Kupari/****emo/etc)

The Kings can't afford both Kempe and Forsberg. If they sign Forsberg, Kempe is getting traded.

This is my thought too, kempe or iafallo are gone. I just wanted to see if we could make it work with keeping both, the only way I could get it is no Lemieux.

I don't think Iafallo is going anywhere. Forsberg doesn't bring to the lineup what Iafallo does.

I agree, I also think Kempe will likely get done and both he and Iafallo will be part of this team for years to come. Blake seemed pretty clear he wanted to sign Kempe long term and Kempe’s camp seems to be on the same page. I know Kempe can be flukey, but let’s hope it works out and he can keep his scoring going.

I realistically see us going all in on Chychrun and going after another budget top-6 option.

I think the "budget top-six option" will be Kaliyev, at least to start next season. I think they will try to bring in some muscle this summer, and I think they will explore some LHD options. Blake isn't going to overpay for Chychrun, so hopefully the asking price will come down to something reasonable.

If Kaliyev doesn't continue to make forward strides next season (on pace for 25-30g by December), then I think the Kings will explore the trade market for scoring help before the deadline. But there's no reason to break the bank on a free agent or trade acquisition if you already have the players that you need in the organization waiting to emerge.
