You wouldn't trade a backup goalie for a 50 point forward?

Probably 60 if he's healthy. But hey, we would get one year of raanta for it. Crazy.

I think it’s because the trade involving Montreal doesn’t make a lot of sense… is it a cap dump of Armia?

TBH I was looking for a RHD that was better than Kostenko but not to the level of Power but the Sabres really don't have a lot of D prospects so I tried to narrow the gap a little by taking a bigger cap dump but maintaining the ridiculousness of the original offer.

Buffalo has nothing but young defensemen.

But sure, your ahl goalie who will leave his ELC with 18 largely terrible NHL games and armia are comparable with Owen Power and our 20 goal captain

Can Colorado really afford to keep him? Realistically they’re going to have to reshape the roster after this year. I would say two out of the three between Kadri, Burakovsky, and Nichushkin are gone, and they could afford to keep one. I don’t know who in the minor-league system is ready to make the jump to replace any of them except for maybe Martin Kaut.

Reread my post my friend, I said I was looking for a RHD that was better than Kostenko not just any D prospect. The only RHD you have worth anything is Dahlin and that is worth way too much to use just to get my point across. Yes Primeau had a bad 18 games on the leagues worst team but look at his stats in the playoffs with the Rocket. He is still waaaay better than the prospect being offered and a 4th.

They have $24M in cap space. Might they trade Compher, but it won’t be for a package that doesn’t do anything for him because a guy that just scored 18 goals can play all 3 forward spots and play on special teams is something any team could use. Kaut is ready, Ben Meyers is a lock, Maltsev is ready, Ranta made the team out of camp this year, Bowers is ready but probably ends up playing in another organization, and the wild card is Olausson, could he make the jump to the NHL maybe. COL just needs to be careful not to get into a bad contract with their own UFA’s. Burakovsky is gone, unless he were to take a team friendly deal the scratch in the playoffs just shows where he is in the pecking order. Kadri unless he too is willing to take a bit of a hometown discount is likely gone, but none of this is a surprise to COL.
