They'll probably just overpay for him as a UFA and allow their 8 draft picks in the first 65 picks time to develop.

Why would Arizona give up so much for two years of Matthews? The value for Arizona would be when they trade him at TDL.
Oh ,Muzzin doesn't waive his NTC. And certainly Crouse is not a 5m player.

Caught a game leaf game there, and never seen more Mathews sweaters vs any coyotes sweaters. Possibly a last ditch effort to drum up the interest to prolong there time In the desert.

But those fans were attending were snow birds....Leafs fans. Even at that the Leaf/Arizona games were not sell outs. There just isn't a hockey market in Arizona meaning ...14,000..fans willing to pay NHL ticket prices for 41 games . I really don't know how Bettman has kept his job. His has failed to bring a big USA TV contract. One third of the teams....at least that many, lose money and are dependent on $$$ help from the richer teams.

Ya fair enough, I was one of those snowbirds off and on, seen a couple games from box seats, where the rest of the crowd didn’t want to pay the 75 bucks to sit in the boxes. Also caught a playoff game in a box seat, similar scenario for 150 I believe. Good times, 6 beers on ice in a bucket for 25 hurt on the plane ride home the next day, but I believe that was 2011 so probably different now and probably not better.

Hey, thanks for your "hockey" insight. I always enjoy, personal stories from CF fans. By the way, I believe Matthews is signing with a big US market as a UFA. LA is my bet as Koptitar's contract expires.
