Leafs aren't trading Sandin, we will need him when Muzzin and Brodie are no longer on the Leafs. Niemela is the Leafs second best propsect

Panthers will have to build through free agency, no first round pick for the next 3 years and the Panthers have a weak prospect pool

I agree. But they’re trying to win now not trade good players for picks and prospects. I get they’re in a cap crunch but having a first and niemela and Robertson and losing bennett and weegar will not help them next season. Also I’m pretty sure when they traded 3 first round picks this season for players they won’t resign was a tip to how they feel about the future right now.

I agree that Engvall and Kerfoot aren't as good as Weegar and Bennett (especially Bennett), Engvall did have a 35 point season playing on the third line and Kerfoot had a 50 point season on the 2nd/3rd line. You can either spend around $7.8M on Weegar and Bennett or spend $5.5M on Engvall and Kerfoot (Engvall will probably get $2M on his new contract), get a first round pick, get a close to ready prospect in Robertson, and a top end prospect

But like I said they’re trying to win now. This makes their defense much worse (maybe after weegar a performance in the playoffs) for only 2 million in savings. Rather trade montour for a 3rd and sign a 6th dman for a million to save the 2 million. Yes Robertson would be nice but he’s not needed right now. We need better d not forwards.

Two years of Nylander for five years of a starting goaltender doesn't make sense for Anaheim.

Anaheim passes.

And Florida passes and it's not even close.
