The bruins aren’t trading their third leading goal scorer to a division rival.

Exactly what the Leafs need, more non playoff players that will get easily pushed around, I hope Dubas makes these moves, he will be gone around the trade deadline and we can finally hire a respected GM and a coach that does not care about a firm handshake

Thats fair, i would try to package something similar to another team for a solid middle 6 forward around that same salary, im very interested to see what happens with Bergeron if he retires or not.

LOL Leafs didnt get pushed around this playoffs and they would still have Simmons and Clifford in the system if needed. On the bright side Dubas hasn't traded any unreal defenseman for 2 2nd round picks, lol Lou's track record has looked great lately there buddy.

youre not wrong, but this is the exact type of package the bruins should be looking for if they do trade debrusk... kerfoot has been pretty solid for the leafs.

I don’t think it is. I think they’d be looking to package debrusk with further assets for an upgrade.

Debrusk this year showed that he can really play when he has great linemates, i love what Kerfoot brought this year especially on the penalty kill but the fit of Debrusk in the top 6 compared to Kerfoot is much better and more valuable. Might be an overpayment with Robertson and the pick but you can put Debrusk on either of the top lines and he would produce a lot more than Kerfoot IMO.

he put up more points playing with worse players, is much better defensively, plays good on the PK, its an awful trade for the leafs

Remember when Dubas got rid of Hyman for nothing and traded Kadri for Kerfoot and Barrie?

In this team, no one is shaking their legs when you have a third and fourth line of Engvall, Kampf, Kase, Dzingel, Abbruzese, and Blackwell (embarrassing)

To be fair, the trades arent that bad for both sides. And some good ideas.

However on a club that has just 500k in cap space, its worth noting that your RFA and UFA signings are very light.

Engvall, is an RFA with rights, coming off good yeat at 1.25mil, theres no way he gets just 1.35mil. Same with Kase, no way does he take less money (and its questionable whether TOR should retain him, given his fragility). And ditto for liljegren/sandin who probably get another 250k at least. So collectively, with realistic RFA offers, you're probably over the cap by 2mil.

The UFA signings are equally pretty weak.

Because Mrazek is a cap dump (and a bad one) that most teams can't afford.

Stolarz put up a 917 save % last year in 28 starts for a not great Anaheim team.... If anyone is an AHL goalie its the current leafs back ups, i know it sucks to trade a 1st round pick, but you get rid of the rough Mrazek contract and you get a decent back up on a cheap contract...
