Wright needs to be playing in the NHL next season. Him smurfing in the OHL isn't going to do anything for his development.

Detroit Declines... Jersey sales for a "Red Savage" exceed any offer you can send...

picking Hughes in the first round will be a mistake. I will play the Miroschnichenko horn until the day I die. we need to grab him with the Calgary pick before he is gone. hodgkins be damned he is a special player.

I don't think DAL accepts, even if the value is close to ok.

Petry's still too expensive at this pricepoint, and mostly because of his term.

We need the money to keep Hintz around and replace Pavelski in 2023.

Easily one of the best and most realistic looks at a potential Habs offseason on here lately. Good job. applaud

Would prefer having Thompson over Drouin at this point.
Maybe MTL and NJD can swap UFAs, Drouin for Tatar straight up?

why would Arizona drop 3 rounds to pick up $2m difference in LTIR...? there must be easier ways to hit the cap floor or I definitely dont understand LTIR rules

I think Dallas dumps Faksa off and then figures it out from there. Johnston and Bourque seem NHL ready so that helps the situation up front this season. All of Pavs' money will probably go straight to Hintz and Dallas can cycle vets in the bottom 6. Also, the cap will start to rise again for 23-24 so that will help the situation also. I do understand your concerns though. It's not an easy situation, these are just my thoughts on why Petry can fit with this cap hit.

Drop 3 rounds (not this season), Weber is $2m more cap hit for $2m less actual money over a longer term, which helps Arizona hit the floor easier without committing as large of a financial commitment while they work their s**t out.

NJD is trying to get better now and Drouin at $3.5m cap hit helps with that.

Devils have too many middle six wingers, adding one without swapping out another doesn't help them.
Besides, it's not obvious to me that either Tatar or Drouin will be better players than Thompson come October.

It certainly helps our situation that we have three so prominent prospects coming up but I wouldn't call them NHL ready until I actually see them perform against pros in a successful manner.

Tearing it up in the juniors doesn't mean they're ready for the big league ... Suzuki was sent back to juniors following his 100 point season. You can't overripe a prospect in the junior but you can throw him in the NHL too soon and **** him up.

I think Weber/Littles actual salary would be covered by insurance unless they were injured when signing the contract (idk that for sure), Yotes are like $12m below the floor with 6-7 roster spots to fill, just seems like a high price for small cap hit gain when they could probably get actual roster players for less (or even get picks for taking them).

Either way, not losing sleep over it, just dont understand why this type of Weber to AZ trade keeps popping up because I don't see Montreal GETTING picks for an LTIR player unless a cap crunched team has to do some preseason shenanigans to be compliant on opening day.
