Wahlstrom is a non-starter for the Isles.

The isles aren’t in a position to trade their only top 6 winger under the age of 25 for a rental.

So is Knies or Topi for the Leafs, aren’t in any of a position to hand over a Top prospect who looks great & can play by March & a Defensive prospect who looks like he can be a Top 2 let alone a Top 4 who is signed

Lets just over to the point, non of these deals happen because the other team is giving up way to much of irreplaceable pieces.

It’s also very inconsistent Value some are more than others & some are way less

Yep, the top two are pretty stark difference.

Potential top line winger and a potential top 4 defenseman for one year of Miller and a third.

Whereas Boston gives up a probably mid round first. A potential bottom 6 center and a decent top four defenseman.

Leafs give up a middle 6 winger who can slot in the top 6 & is a premier penalty killer, their two best prospects one that looks like he can play now & one that looks like a potential top 2 Rhd & a 3rd. The value is all over the place Lol

Rangers are not trading Schneider . Take Nils and any pick you want.

Kent Johnson is a future 1C for the Jackets. Or at least that's what they think he is and they have been trying to get another one since sending Ryan Johansen to the Preds for Seth Jones. They won't be trading him.

The Jackets will probably pursue him hard in the '23 offseason, if he doesn't get extended elsewhere to bring him back to Ohio and market the **** out him like they have with Kuraly, Roslovic, and Sillinger (kinda). More Ohio boys to bring back home kinda thing.

Yep, the top two are pretty stark difference.

Potential top line winger and a potential top 4 defenseman for one year of Miller and a third.

Whereas Boston gives up a probably mid round first. A potential bottom 6 center and a decent top four defenseman.

Why don't you guys try and make an armchair with a bunch of trades with the exact same value

I don’t see Johnson as much of a center tbh and I’m not sure Jarmo sees him as a center. If they really though of him as a center they would have sent him back to Michigan to be their 1c next season vs signing him and playing him as a LW, where he was with Michigan, in the Olympics and now in the world championships.

That being said I’d wait and sign Miller as a UFA if possible.

It’s hard to gauge value, everyone will have their opinions on a player being worth more than another but if i did I would need a guaranteed value to start with for ex. a 1st , a top prospect & a 3rd + a Roster Player) something like that to at least have a consensus of how to build each trade, the thing is most Canucks fans have inconsistent levels of value some say 2 1sts+ & some say a Top 6 with term++ it’s difficult to make it work for everyone

i doubt miller is ever going to hit free agency, if the canucks can't extend him. he will be traded to a team that will extend him

He'll be going on 31 when he finishes this contract. He may be looking for that last big contract and there's no better place to do it than free agency.

He may not be, but I think they will try for a good long time to make him into a center unless Sillinger assumes that role. I think he would be a better winger, but they could make that push. The future is bright for that forward group.

I wouldn’t say that, lots of players get traded as rentals and never sign with the team that traded for them and no rebuilding team is going to give up premium assets to acquire a rental. So the best option is for Miller to be traded is at the deadline 50% retained to a team chasing a cup, and my guess is that team won’t have the cap space to resign him to the contract amount he would want. I would also say this will be his first time picking where he gets to play, to some players that is important to have said choice of where they want to go.

Cool. Then keep him. I don't really understand why there's such a rush to trade him since he's apparently on the same tier a player as Draisaitl and Debrincat. Why wouldn't the Canucks move heaven and hearth to keep him?

Did you really just say debrincat is the same tier player as draisaitl? Im not against Van finding a way to keep miller but if he gets traded the return has to be more than what’s suggested here

That's my point. I don't think he's even in Debrincat's tier, let alone Draisaitl. And if he is traded, you're going to be very disappointed by the return if you're looking for top five player in the world value when the player is nowhere near that. He had 99 points once, at age 30. One time. Players have fluke one year go-off seasons all the time, and scoring was up across the league this past season.

What? All debrincat contributes to a team is offense and his career high is 78 points while playing with patty Kane. Miller contributes everywhere and just put up 99 points playing with tanner Pearson. Surely you can’t be delusional enough to not notice the huge difference there…
