Keeping the Band Together V2

Created by: JSEB93
Team: 2022-23 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: May 25, 2022
Published: May 25, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Don't tell my boss I'm not working.

Giving a few AHL guys their opportunity to prove themselves this time. Possible alternate for Domi could be Athanasiou.

As with my last one - trades are just to dump players. The team and return could be very different.

I might make an option B for this - which would be Gaudreau in for Forsberg and Kapanen in for Domi.

Why does every pens team always have petterson going to Detroit for a 3rd? Detroit has no interest in him.

Haha - I just copied earlier ones because every single person said Detroit would gladly accept the trade. As it says in the description though - the team and pick is meaningless.

Why is McGinnis a cap dump? He's a good player.

Going off last season, he's not even remotely a good player. He was 1 of 2 players on the Pens to be sub 50% in Corsi, Fenwick, GF%, xGF%, and SCF%. But at least the other guy(Carter) had twice as many points as him and has a no movement clause. There wasn't anything he did well. Big Z would be a noticeable upgrade over McGinn. There is no reason to have him at that salary for 3 more years.

Wrong Detroit needs a short term top 4 LD until the kids are ready, Pettersson at his age is perfect for our young core.

Detroit barely accepts.

Filip Forsberg gets between $9,000,000 x 7 years to $9,500,000 x 7 years. You're short on both money and term by a great margin.

Because 99% of Detroit fans here (me included) thinks it's a great idea for Detroit.

Detroit accepts, and since you're not going to keep either Kapanen or Nylander why not let us have them too? We'll add Grewe or McIsaac on our side.

I'll give you 8.5 AAV - can easily find an additional $330K in this roster

I don't really care about term in these - so yes, you are definitely right on that.

9.5mil makes him the 2nd highest paid LW in the entire league. I don't see how he gets as much or more than Kiprizov - shouldn't even get more that Aho really. I haven't seen anywhere expect him to get $9mil+. I will give you 8.5 AAV though, which can easily be found in this roster.

Take 'em haha - this is assuming of course that we get Forsberg. Either Kapanen proves he isn't good and I don't want him - or he has a good year and we wouldn't be able to afford him anyways. At least that's how I see it.
