Description
This team would still have a ridiculously strong top 9 while being much more defensively sound. Calgary would probably get better offers(as far as futures) for tkachuk but this would give them 2 top 6 forwards for the same price as tkachuk would cost. One of them being a ppg 24year old. As well as a solid prospect, and a first.

Nichushkin is an awesome player and in my opinion a top FA. Great defensively and would be a huge addition.

As far as the future, I think you move out krug after the 2023 season and give yourself some cap relief to resign the big guys and do whatever you want with. He’s been great but gotta give perunivich the chance to take his role. He has shown he can excel in the pp just like krug. Definitely stick with Binner. Other than otter and vasy he had been the best goalie of the playoffs.

Side note, **** everyone being racist towards Kadri. Just dumb. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. Makes the city look terrible. Don’t let some fans define the entire Blues fan base. As far as the play, Kadri probably could have lightened up but the puck was lose and it’s the playoffs. Rosen probably should have done more to protect him. The injury to Binner sucks. Hopefully Husso plays better tonight. The rest of the team needs to step up too. LGB

I don't think this is something the Blues would do. Giving up two very high producing players plus a first rounder and a solid prospect for one guy is a lot to fork over. I get it if you look at it as it opens up the money for Nichushkin so it's basically like you're getting both players, but I still think the value here skews towards Calgary.

Probably fair. Just really tough to find a fit with the Blues because any roster player they have that would be of interest to the Flames has an NTC

I think tkachuk and nichushkin bring almost as much offensive value as tarasenko and kyrou with a lot more defensive ability. Torpchenko has been awesome and that 3rd line will still be able to produce.
Tkachuk-Thomas-Buch has the potential to be a top 5 line in the league. They would dominate xG

You're so much better with Kyrou and Tarasenko than with Tkachuk.

Decent offer, still doesnt solve the Flames main issue though. I would ask for Thomas over Kyrou

you forget about some of the statistics. Tkachuk is only good with certain linemates. xG and G is completely different. Kyrou is still growing. Tarasenko is less than Tkachuk you lose a bit of depth because of how much you will pay Tkachuk. I completely disagree with your method of 1 line makes or breaks the team mentality.

I’m not saying one line makes or breaks a team at all but I see how you got that out of what I’m saying. My thought process in this is you get an elite two way player whose young and on the team for his whole prime. Yes you lose kyrou and Tarasenko but there’s almost no way we keep both of them after the 2023 season anyways. And if we do keep both of them then we probably don’t keep o’Reilly. If vladdy walks, I would rather have tkachuk at 10m than kyrou at 7.5. Kyrou is awesome. One of my favorites on this blues team and definitely a big part of the future but tkachuk would be an upgrade. This teams offense would quite match the blues this year but it would still be really good. And the defense would definitely be better. I just think this creates a more balanced team.
