Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Avs won’t be able to keep Kadri, Manson or Sturm. Even re-signing Burakovsky is a stretch and he may go FA and get 7M +. Mackinnon is the type of player who will take a discount to allow for his team to stay relevant. He could easily ask for 12M on any team and get it. Kuemper will be in the 6M range. Jack Johnson will take a discount for 1M. Byram will sign a bridge deal 3-4yrs. Nichushkin should be in the 4M range. If he asks for more Avs would be better off letting him walk and signing someone else.

I recall MacKinnon saying a few years back that he wasn't taking another discount again. Made me laugh because I don't think he did take a discount. I expect him to ask for 12.5-13m, especially if Matthews gets paid

Nate MacKinnon is getting McDavid money, there's no way he's taking that contract. Try more like $12,500,000 x 8 years to sign him.

He said he would take a discount again. But you're right he never really took a discount in the first place

I don't agree with many contracts here

Compher and Burakovsky aren't worth that
Nichushkin and Mackinnon get more
EJ and Helm won't get that much term

Why did you sign Bowers but not players like Kaut who have outperformed him?

Ah, well in his mind full price is probably a discount, I think he was comparing himself to O'Reilly who got 7.5, in the same year that he signed I think. If he does take an actual discount I don't see it being lower than 11.5m.

Burky is a healthy scratch right now, you can pretty much assume he's going to be let go for free agency unless he takes less than what he is making now. Franky won't be moved either. no way compher gets a raise, and unless kuemper starts stealing games i don't see us locking him up for 6 mil either. also where is lehkonen? this is all sorts of messy
