This arguably makes the team worse. Does nothing to help defensively. I like Perunovich, but he should be with Borts and Blues can use a top 4 for Parayko.

Offensively no, they're much better as Tkachuk is much better than Barbashev. But the Blues main issue this year was defense and transitioning which this move doesn't help

Fun fact: Tkachuk is good in transition and was one of the best defensive forwards this year

And they only loss Leddy ( replaced by Perunovich) and Scandella who is okay but way too overpaid.

Problem here is that offer sheet gets matched in a heart beat. Also, doubt Matthew will sign a 6 year, 9mil deal. He’s gonna get 10+

After 2-3 seasons blues will enter retool mode, picks will be used for draft not trades.

Yes, Tkachuk is good in transition. Doesn't change the other defensive issues the Blues have had. That's the point. We need to upgrade LD before our forwards.

Which is part of my point. He's been better at getting the puck out but not good defensively and we need better defense.

Perunovich will be fine next year. We can’t just keep sitting him. Mikkola could be replaced/not resigned but eh
