I kinda like this JVR trade, you get him for one year and he's still a decent Top 9 player who can get you around 15-20 goals a season for Zaitsev. I take this deal if I'm Ottawa

Zaitsev deal is awful for Philly. No point in taking on an extra year of cap dump when management is trying to win now

They're saving money on JVR's contract and re-allocating the rest of it to a position of need which is Right Defense. Zaitsev allows them to take time to make sure Ellis is fully healthy. If Ellis isn't healthy and can't return then Zaitsev for 2 years will be needed anyway.
