Yeah and Carolina would want minimum Marner half retained for a package involving Jarvis, or more ideally, the Hart Trophy favorite. Realistic? No. But it's about as realistic as asking for him for a player that he's on pace to just straight up be better than.

We won't be trading 2 RWs for one, but would you accept our 2022 first (19th overall) in place of Arvidsson?

Sharks say yes, assuming they can make the cap work.

A lot different values in these trades. I think you were aiming for equal value but that's not what the Leafs need. They don't need 2nd and 3rd round picks. They need 30+ goal scorers who compliment others on the team or two players who would combine for equal value.

If they lose others like Kase, Mikheyev, Engvall they will need to make up those goals as well.

Leafs need a bigger and better D, maybe more grit up front. But players that fit the bill aren't available (Jeannot, Wilson, Perry, etc)

The problem with posts like this is the values vary so much. Like the Colorado trade is just bad for Toronto but Winnipeg gives up a top Center, pick like 3 teams who make sense and work it.

Some of the trades are basically straight hockey trades (like St Louis) and they wouldn’t happen. The problem with most Nylander trades is that they go for futures but futures don’t help us win now

Center position vs a predominant winger has to be a factor, also contract status and a year away from being a rental is also a factor. Some of these definitely have the adds on the wrong side, when I would question a straight up trade. But got some conversation so definitely doing something right.

The problem with posts like this is the values vary so much. Like the Colorado trade is just bad for Toronto but Winnipeg gives up a top Center, pick like 3 teams who make sense and work it.

The Colorado trade is bad? Not the first one I would take but I don’t think getting a pretty solid goalie back is ever a bad return for us.

In what sense? Tage is great and he’s going to get better, but Nylander has shown what he’s capable of for more than 5 years now

Because he has way way way more value than nylander. Do you think other GMs don’t watch?

Then how is he only one 4th round pick worse than Nylander?

Well....maybe. it really depends what you value. Thompson had an amazing season...but only 1. There are lots of players with one good season. Nylander has multiple seasons at 20+, two over 30 and was a point per game player even with playing third line minutes at times. They play different games with Thompson being a big guy and Nylander is a speed and skill.

But I don't see how moving Thompson for Nylander makes an impact on Buffalo at or more than Thompson.

If Thompson was a contract hold out this trade makes a lot of sense all of a sudden.

Not going to break down every single trade but all in all these are solid trades if Nylander was traded. A few of them (like the SJS and NSH trades) are low offers for Willy Ny though.

Same can be said of nylander. 60 point guy that had one point per game campaign. Thompson has more upside.

Buddy, that's like asking me to explain why I wouldn't trade Slavin for Nylander. Watch a Canes game and your question answers itself.

Jarvis put up 40 points and had a roughly 50-point pace as a 19-year-old rookie. He started the season on the 4th line and has been the most dependable Canes forward for months. His two-way game for a teenager is incredible, already tasked with killing penalties and playing against the extra attacker, and he's done that with very little powerplay time. He's been absolutely unreal. The fact you didn't know any of this shows me that you watch no Canes games and aren't worth talking to about Canes players because you're going to base your opinions entirely off the stats.
