w-why would you sign Chiarot to that contract?
is it what you believe GMTF would do?

i like the oilers trade tho

edit: no way EH projects Chiarot's contract to be that big that's just obscene

That's his projected contract on evolving-hockey. He's a player I think Tom would want. I hope he doesn't make a move that stupid.

I'm not saying this in a judgemental tone, more so a real question. How is JP worth Zacha (who I am not a big fan of) and Ty Smith (who I think you are selling at his lowest view) AND a second? JP and Zacha have similar stats, and in both cases seems like a guy that gives up at times.

If it were Zacha straight up, one problem guy for another, fine, but I would still want to see another year of Smith, with good coaching, before giving up on him.

do you have an evolving-hockey subscription? Athletic subscription? check his RAPMs/GSVA. Puljujarvi is an analytic darling.

did you see this from @nhlfan10506 last August? https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/506653
Apparently we as a community project contracts better than they do, especially for older players.
That coupled with the Devils depth at LHD makes me less inclined to believe Fitz signs Chiarot to that, if he signs him at all.

Value wise it's fair for the oilers but don't think they'd be interested in Smith really, don't need another young D man who's terrible defensively

me loving pulju i wouldn't trade him at all but that probably gets it done for them

Pulju isn't a problem guy at all, oilers probably just bridge him. If I were the devils I'd be keeping Smith too

I also don't think Fiala get's 8.6 as I did in the first installment of this. I just used them because it's easier than guessing. If they come in cheaper, well that's just gravy.

Didn't mean him being a problem personality wise, but rather he's had issues with EDM where he wasn't even going to play there. He might be far better now, but you'd think an analytical guy that gets to play with either of those two top centers should have stats jumping off the page.

It weird, he's a RW but really plays like a RD. Always back in the play ready to defend, steps in on the back board sometimes like the d man usually would. Can't finish for his life but everything else about his game is borderline elite he really completes Connor/Drai

That's very interesting. I'll have to look out for that more.
