Yeah, if Larkin is traded, the trade starts with one of Sillinger/Johnson along 6oa. Not sure what gets added from there, but it would be painful for CBJ to accept.

I fully endorse more UM players to C’bus.

Larkin, Copp, maybe Offer sheet to Norris.

Werenski and a 1st for Larkin. Then at the end of the season Larkin as a UFA signs with Detroit. Only possible way it happens!

I think it is possible but certainly not for this trade offer.

I wonder though. Larkin may not sign until he sees Detroit get better. The Jackets and Larkin make a very interesting match. Werenski is signed long term and there is a very well known friendship between Werenski and Larkin.

Lol you're not getting one of those and 6OA in a hypothetical world where Larkin wasn't signing.

Really??? The odds of Larkin being traded is up there with McDavid being traded.

Caps trade is way off. Nyquist end up being nothing more than a 3rd liner in DC, and doesn’t bring a lot of value to the Capitals lineup, so there’s no way Washington ponies up their top LD prospect and a 3rd rounder for a minimal upgrade. The Caps might consider an Eller for Nyquist trade, but not at that price.

Eller could also get you more than a 4th if you retain half his salary.

Maybe but the way he's playing in the playoffs I'm not so sure.

There's two ways to look at it: likeliness of getting traded & likeliness of going to FA. I think neither is likely to get traded, but I think Larkin is less likely to go to FA than EDM due to being the captain of his hometown and childhood favorite team.

Start with the Chicago 6th overall pick add one of Kent Johnson/Cole Sillinger then add accordingly. The OPs mess in no way gets Larkin.

If Yzerman moves Larkin before his NTC kicks in on July 1st he has no say where he goes. There's no way Larkin is going to Columbus without Werenski heading to Detroit and that's a pure fact.

I feel it would be Johnson, 6th overall in 2022 and texier. Sillinger with hometown connections probably sticks around. Werenski isn't going anywhere. The extension shouldn't be a problem as I feel the only way he gets traded is if Yzerman can't get him to sign in Detroit for some reason.

If you are trading Larkin why would you need werenski? The team would be taking a major step back might as well go for younger options.

Yeah that's why i said right above it, Chicago's 6th overall pick and one of Kent Johnson or Cole Sillinger and than add accordingly there would need to be another 1st coming back to Detroit if it's a sign and trade kind of deal like the Seth Jones trade last summer.

I think Johnson over Sillinger since he was born there and 6th overall plus texier would be the deal.

That looks like like a good deal.

To Columbus Dylan Larkin signed extension $8,750,000 x 8 years.

To Detroit Kent Johnson+Chicago's 2022 1st round pick 6th over all pick+Alexandre Texier.

I think Jarmo really thinks about it. I agree this probably gets it done.
